10km Swim + 420km Ride + 85k Run In Under 20 Hours
Countdown to Ultra Triathlon Australia 2022
Ultraman is the ultimate test of physical and mental endurance. It is divided into four stages over three days, and each day has a 12-hour cut-off.
RICHARD THOMPSON IS THE 2018 WORLD CHAMPION AND THE CURRENT WORLD RECORD HOLDER. HE’S ON A MISSION TO RE-WRITE THE RECORD BOOKS.
Starting at the iconic Noosa Heads beach club, Richard’s race begins with a huge 10km open ocean swim, followed by a 146km ride, which must be completed in under 12 hours.
Day 2 sees Richard taking on a 274km stint on the bike, completing the two wheel stage of the event, in preparation for the final gruelling stage of the event on Day 3.
The final stage of the ultra Man 2022 event is an 84.5km run down the coast from noosa and back up as richard attempts to break his own world record and finish in under 20 hours.
While the ‘pros’ of getting the 8 hours a night are extensive, it’s the ‘cons’ of neglecting sleep that are truly scary.
